The combination of INTRALASE, Visx Star S4™ Excimer Laser and Wavefront is also known as iLASIK. As everybody’s eyes are different, this combination allows customised, personalised and individualised laser vision correction.
INTRALASE is a laser designed to create a 100% Blade-Free flap of corneal tissue at a precise, predetermined depth, prior to the actual reshaping of the cornea using the VISX Star S4™ Excimer Laser.
We use the superior high-technology VISX Star S4™ Excimer Laser. This is only brand of laser in the industry that tracks your eye movement in three dimensions. The VISX laser has been used on over three million procedures. It incorporates a patented algorithm that uses different laser pulse sizes to minimise treatment time and amounts of Corneal tissue removed. The VISX Star S4™ Excimer Laser was FDA (US Food and Drug Administration ) approved on 23.5.03. In addition, we use the ORBSCAN II and the Pentacam to personalise treatment for your eye based on advanced 3D corneal topography information which allows exact fingerprinting and correction for your eyes.
We offer customised WAVEFRONT which allows the surgeon to take a ‘fingerprint’ of your cornea to map out any abnormal contours that are unique to your eye and cater for them during your procedure. It also includes Iris recognition technology to increase accuracy and safety. This enables a personalised treatment plan to cater uniquely to your eyes. It is often recommended for those have poor night vision, very large pupils or a moderate amount of Astigmatism for optimised clarity and contrast.
